COOPER FOR THE KICK
“Only three more minutes boys!” yelled the coach. The score was even between these two brutal teams. Quade's team had the penalty kick. There he was, focusing on the post. He gently moved his arms back and twinkled them around with nervousness. He took a couple of steps back from the white and cyan ball. Still focused on the post, he thought of all the fans on the bleachers, waiting, waiting for the ball to sail between the posts. Then in an instant, his bulky arms tightened as he ran towards the ball. Every step that this young, tanned man took, he could feel the sprigs of his boots stabbing into the grass as if cutting into a Christmas ham. Then BOOM!!! His hard legs smashed the ball into the air! He stood there, nervously watching the ball approach the goal posts. The crowed was screaming with anticipation, all of a sudden, donk! The ball had smashed the post and rebounded back onto the hard leaf green grass of the stadium. Quade lowered his head to the ground, feeling shamed, feeling sorry for letting down his team and his fans.

COUNTIES RUGBY TOURNAMENT 2011
On Thursday 16th of June, our under 55kg team of rugby players went to the Counties Championship tournament at Bruce Pulman Park. When everyone stepped off the bus, they hoped they were going to win. Our first team that we had to verse was East Counties. The score was 26-0. In our second game, we fought against Rosehill Intermediate. The final score was 15-0, another win to us. The next game was the semi-final against Greenmeadows Intermediate, it was pretty straight forward. The score in the end was 20-0. This meant that we were going to verse North Counties in the Under 55kg final. We managed to beat them 10-0. If you didn’t notice the scores, we beat every team by 0. That was awesome to watch our team dominate on the field. At the prizegiving we were awarded ‘Under 55k’g Counties Champions for 2011. Chas Ngaha was awarded a special prize for being the overall Under 55kg player of the tournament.
